We believe mealtime is an important opportunity for everyone to socialise and enjoy their food. That's why we support all children to be well mannered, tolerant (not for unjust but for difference), be independent, learn to share and to talk with their friends. Please don't worry... each member of our team is First Aid qualified to deal with any chatter-matter-choking hazards ;-)
A small proportion of our food is grown in our local allotment by the children (thanks to the kind plant and seed gifts and the generous tips from our grow enthuse parents and grandparents!). Our home grown collection consists of strawberries, blueberries, courgettes, cucumber, carrots, beetroot, rhubarb, potatoes, marrow, pumpkins, grapes and more.
We promote a healthy lifestyle with home cooked nutritious meals from scratch (yes, that includes bread) with minimum of 5 a day in our mind. All Milk and eggs are organic and all food are free from tin (i.e. baked beans) and genetically modified (i.e. corn) products. We prepare three main meals and two snacks each day and we make sure they are nutritionally balanced. We use some local produce and where possible organic produce and meat. If you let us know, we can cater for special dietary requirements.
We have an 11-day rotational menu so if your child attends say, every Monday and Friday of the week they still get a really varied diet and we change the menu each season.
