"Children may be little, but their brain power is immense. At Cygnets Childcare, we recognize and nurture this potential to help them grow into confident, capable individuals. It's truly amazing to witness how much they can absorb and achieve at such a young age. Despite their small size, children possess the incredible ability to see through adult façades and approach the world with inherent values and wisdom. Their perspective can be refreshingly insightful, often challenging the way we, as adults, see things.
The question is: are we, the adult world, ready to negotiate, listen, and respect the little world of children? Are we prepared to respond to their uniqueness with the affection, sanity, and time they need to spark their potential, without allowing outside influences to cloud their holistic and unique development, thereby protecting their childhood?"

Curriculum Inspiration & Design
We are also inspired by the Forest School, Regio Emilia and few other education approaches and theories like Marslow's Hierachy of needs, Bowlby's attachment theory, Social constructivism theory, emotional intelligence theory etc. when planning and delivering our curriculum. We also embrace the principles of Princess Kate's Early Childhood - Royal Foundation, alongside the values of many other inspiring figures. Our approach is a harmonious blend of modern, traditional, natural, and technologically advanced methods. We holistically nurture children's knowledge, skills, and values, empowering them to embrace the future with confidence and to accept themselves for who they truly are.
EYFS & Development Matters
Cygnets follow the Development Matters - Non-statutory curriculum guidance for the early years foundation stage (publishing.service.gov.uk) developed by Dr Julian Grenier CBE. Julian is one of His Majesty’s Inspectors (HMIs) and Early Education Lead in Ofsted’s Curriculum Unit, in consultation with a range of professionals across the early years sector. According to Government guidance Development Matters offers a top-level view of how children develop. It offers an overarching framework that helps educators, caregivers, and parents understand the key milestones and processes in children's growth. This resource is valuable for guiding and supporting the holistic development of children's knowledge, skills, and values.
Birth to 5 Matters
Cygnets also follows the Birthto5Matters (birthto5matters.org.uk) guidance for child development assessments, i.e. progress check at age 2 - GOV.UK, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of each child's progress. Birth To 5 Matters – Guidance by the sector, for the sector developed with the Early Years Coalition, composed of 16 early years sector organisations. It offers non-statutory guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage, providing a comprehensive framework for supporting children's development from birth to five years old. The guide emphasizes holistic development, positive relationships, and enabling environments, making it a valuable resource for early years practitioners, educators, and parents
