Dear Cygnets Parents,
We are absolutely thrilled to have you as part of our Cygnets Childcare family! With over 15 years of our industry experience, recognised and commended by our service users and industry experts, we know a unique trick or two about creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for your little ones.
Our approach integrates the best elements of Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and Forest School philosophies to provide a holistic and engaging learning experience. We foster a child-centred, hands-on, and experiential natural learning environment. We encourage independence, autonomy, community and collaboration in our learning promoting Our-Values - 14R's that guides our thinking. Cygnets Childcare motto, "We listen, respect, and respond to the little world," reflects the shared key principles of these philosophies and embodies the essence of harmony among them.
Our dedicated team works tirelessly to make sure each child feels like the superstar they are. After all, as Albert Einstein put it, “Play is the highest form of research.” Our research never ends as we enjoy each child's unique and evolving demands.
As first-time parents, we might have had grand dreams for our kids—one a doctor, the other a pilot, engineer, or lawyer? Well, guilty as charged! But as our two little girls grew, we realized they are incredible individuals with their own unique talents and aspirations. Instead of moulding them into our ideal versions, we focused on listening to them and creating a safe, challenging environment where they could thrive. Our goal was for them to become happy, independent, resilient, confident, and ethical global citizens. How they choose to contribute to the world is entirely up to them. Parents who join Cygnets share these aspirations for their children, and that's exactly what our young Cygnets will achieve during their early years with us.
As a family, we cherish the simple joys of life, like our lively dinner table conversations and serene Surrey countryside walks. These moments have strengthened our bond, allowing us to continually refine our family values and support each other's growth. We encourage Cygnets parents to treasure these precious moments and enjoy quality family time too.
As Early Years Educators, we offer a variety of indoor and outdoor activities designed to meet the diverse needs and interests of our children and their communities. From arts and crafts to nature-based explorations, messy play to tidy-up time, and reading to listening, we strive to make learning enjoyable, meaningful, and ethical. As Dr. Seuss wisely said, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go!” We believe it's the quality, not the quantity of information, that makes a difference. Once we plant the seeds of basic knowledge and guide them in developing skills, enriched with happy memories, our children take the lead, nurturing it with their unique curiosity and the freedom to explore, becoming lifelong learners. It's a natural process. You see the results in years to come!
The Power of Parent-Educator Partnerships: When you and your child’s educator team up, magic happens! By sharing your family's cultural background, values, interests, and what's important to you on a daily basis, you create a lively tapestry of experiences for your child. Imagine this: You chat with the educator about your love for weekend hikes, your family's festive traditions, or even your child's obsession with dinosaurs. 🦖 Suddenly, the educator has a treasure trove of ideas to make learning exciting and meaningful. So, dive into those conversations, share your stories, and watch as your child thrives in an environment tailored just for them. Together, we can create a rich, engaging world where your little one can flourish! As Dr. Seuss wisely said, “You’re off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so get on your way!”
Parent Engagement: We firmly believe in the power of a united community and love seeing Cygnets families participate in our educational programs, celebrations, and community events, no matter how small the contribution. Your involvement helps us create a lively and inclusive environment where every child can thrive. As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child.” A big thank you to Christine Mary Adolf for the inspiration!
Well, it takes an entire community to raise ours! With Cygnets family members spread across various countries, counties, towns, and villages, our children are cherished and valued by all. Our town of Redhill in Surrey is a stronghold of diverse values, united by a shared goal: raising our children with care. Cygnets children are truly loved. Cygnets is their home away from home, a place second only to their own homes.
When our setting children's parents feel pressure and sadness, our early years team empathizes deeply. As humans, we naturally transfer our feelings to those around us, including children and family members. We understand the importance of neuro-linguistic communication and genuinely care about the well-being of our children's parents. Please share your hardships with us; we have the tools and support to help lighten the burden.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child's early years education and their future success. During these formative years, when a million neural connections form every second up to age three and 90% of the adult brain develops by age five, we are dedicated to laying the foundations for their future learning, behaviour, and health in a fun and engaging way.
We look forward to continuing this exciting journey together. Let's create wonderful childhood and family memories together! At Cygnets Childcare, we strive to empower you to be not just a parent, but a cool, competent, and reflective guide for your child's journey to success and beyond. That's what truly caring families do.
Warm regards,
Rose Dias & The Cygnets Childcare Family
